Two Dengue Patients Die, 330 Hospitalized in 24 Hours

Dhaka: Two dengue patients died while 330 have been hospitalized across the country in the last 24 hours till this morning.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) issued a press release detailing the regional distribution of the new hospitalizations. In Barishal division, 86 patients were admitted, followed by 54 in Chattogram, 48 in Dhaka division, 27 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), 44 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), 27 in Khulna, three in Mymensingh, 38 in Rajshahi, and three in Rangpur division.



The report further indicated that the total number of dengue cases this year has risen to 15,210, with 58 deaths reported thus far. Despite the recent surge, during the same 24-hour period, 385 patients were discharged from hospitals across the country.



For context, the previous year witnessed a much higher number of cases and fatalities. The total number of dengue cases reached 101,214, with 575 deaths reported. The current trend underscores the ongoing health challenge posed by dengue, a mosquito-borne disease that continues to affect many regions.
