Two-Day Bangladesh-US Bilateral Defense Dialogue Concludes in Dhaka

Dhaka: The two-day long 12th ‘Bangladesh-US Bilateral Defense Dialogue’ concluded at the Bangladesh Armed Forces Division (AFD) today. Starting on December 10, the dialogue saw military delegations from Bangladesh and the United States of America engaging in discussions, as stated in a release from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate this evening.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, this dialogue has been a key element of military cooperation between the two nations since its inception in 2012. The recent session focused on enhancing mutual military cooperation. Discussions included topics such as global and regional security, technology, defense equipment, disaster management, peacekeeping operations, training, inspections, joint exercises, drills, and workshops.



Representing Bangladesh, Brigadier General Muhammad Ali Haider Siddiqui, Director General of AFD [Operations and Planning Directorate], participated in the dialogue, while Brigadier General Sarah Roos led the US delegation. Senior officials from various Bangladeshi organizations, including the AFD, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), and Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG), were also present.



The ISPR highlighted that this bilateral defense dialogue is expected to enhance military cooperation and strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries.
