Dhaka: Islami Andolan Bangladesh (IAB) strongly condemned the shooting of Osman Hadi, a potential independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency and spokesperson of Inqilab Manch. In a statement today, the party’s Joint Secretary General and spokesperson Maulana Gazi Ataur Rahman described the incident as alarming, especially with the national election approaching.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Gazi Ataur Rahman emphasized the need to restore law and order and take strict action against criminals who might try to disrupt the polls. He highlighted the safety of key political leaders as a major concern, as they will soon begin campaigning nationwide.
Gazi Ataur Rahman called on the government to immediately arrest all individuals involved in the attack, noting that the matter affects not only the upcoming election but also the country’s overall future. He urged law enforcement agencies to intensify efforts to recover illegal firearms and ensure that both the attackers and those behind them are brought to justice.
