Natore:Two young children drowned in a pond at Berilabari village in the Lalpur upazila of Natore on Monday noon.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the victims were identified as Sheuly Khatun, aged two and a half, daughter of Serajul Huq, and Afia Khatun, aged two, daughter of Anarul Islam. The tragic incident occurred around 1200 pm when the children were playing near their home and accidentally fell into a nearby pond.
Family members, after a frantic search, found the children in the water and immediately took them to Bagha Upazila Health Complex in Rajshahi. Unfortunately, the attending doctors declared both children deceased upon arrival.
Officer-in-Charge Shafiqul Islam of Lalpur Police Station stated that the bodies were returned to their families without conducting autopsies.
