Dhaka:Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer and Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, has accused conspirators and opportunists of attempting to destroy the garment industry by inciting unrest within the sector.

According to United News of Bangladesh, Dr. Rahman expressed his concerns through a Facebook post on Monday morning, highlighting the ongoing unrest in the garment sector marked by incidents of vandalism and arson at industrial establishments in various areas.

Dr. Rahman emphasized that establishing rights cannot be achieved by destroying industrial establishments and stated his belief that no worker would willingly participate in such destructive acts. He noted that approximately 600 factories have already been declared closed, suggesting a potential deep-rooted conspiracy aimed at undermining the garment industry's prospects, particularly as winter approaches.

He called on all stakeholders, including factory owners and workers, to remain sincere and vigilant to protect the industry from these alleged conspiracies.
