Chattogram: Two children tragically died after falling into a water-filled pit in Harualchhari of Fatikchhari upazila of Chattogram district. The incident occurred at a site where soil had been excavated for a brick kiln.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the deceased have been identified as Saki, aged 8, and Sanzida, aged 11. Saki was the daughter of Habibur Rahman, while Sanzida was the daughter of Jagir Hossain. Both children were residents of ward No. 2 of Harualchhari union. The incident unfolded when Saki fell into the pit while playing nearby, and Sanzida drowned while attempting to rescue her.
Iqbal Hossain Chowdhury, the Chairman of Harualchhari Union Parishad, confirmed that the pit was a result of soil excavation intended for a brick kiln in the vicinity. The tragic deaths have cast a shadow of mourning over the local community.
