Two Businesses Fined Tk 100,000 in Nilphamari

Nilphamari: A mobile court jointly initiated by the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) and Special Response Battalion (SRB)-13 fined two business establishments Taka 100,000 in Nilphamari district today.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the DNCRP and Crime Prevention Company (CPC)-2 of SRB-13 from Nilphamari Camp conducted the court in Dakshin Sonakhali Sarkarpara area of Saidpur police station in Nilphamari and fined the business establishments, a SRB-13 press release said tonight.

In the campaign, the 'Energy Double Plus Doi' was fined Taka 40,000 and 'Hira Food Products' was fined Taka 60,000 for adding prohibited substances to food products in violation of Section 42 of the Protection of Consumer Rights Act, 2009.

Furthermore, intelligence activities and operations of SRB-13 and DNCRP will continue in order to implement a zero-tolerance policy against offenses such as illegal hoarding, selling products at excessive prices, and food adulteration, the release added.
