Madhabdi: Police have arrested two union-level leaders of the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) in connection with an anti-terrorism case. A police team from Madhabdi thana arrested them from Amdia and Meherpara unions, as confirmed by the Officer-in-Charge of Madhabdi thana.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrestees are Saddam Hossain Onik, aged 27, who serves as the Vice President of Amdia Union Chhatra League, and Ferdous Hasan, aged 26, the Joint General Secretary of Meherpara Union Chhatra League. Saddam Hossain Onik is the son of Abul Hossain from Kandail Uttar Para in the Amdia union, while Ferdous Hasan is the son of Anwar Hossain from the area opposite Index Plaza in Bhagirathpur.
The two have been formally charged in an anti-terrorism case. Police have stated that after completing the necessary legal formalities, the accused will be presented before the court for further proceedings.
