Rangpur: The Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) in two separate drives arrested two men with drugs worth about Taka 84.70 lakh from their respective houses at different locations in Mithapukur upazila of the district today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a special DNC team, acting on a tip-off, apprehended one individual from Surongo village in Shalti Gopalpur union of the upazila. The team seized drugs valued at Taka 84.40 lakh from his possession, as informed by Deputy Director of District DNC Biplob Kumar Modak. The seized contraband includes 650 grams of heroin, 28 grams of ice meth, 5,700 Yaba tablets, and 180 ampoules of TT Jessic injections. The arrested man is identified as Saidur Rahman Bullet, 37, son of Sultan Ahmed from the same village.
Another team from DNC arrested Madhob Chandra Sarker, 63, son of Rajanikant Sarker of village Joyram Jafarpur in Pairaband union of the same upazila. The team seized one kilogram of ganja worth Taka 30,000 from his possession.

tor added that two separate cases have been filed under the Narcotics Control Act 2018, and the arrested individuals will be handed over to Mithapukur police station shortly.
