Dhaka:Police have arrested two individuals in connection with a case involving the alleged abetment of a woman's suicide. The arrests were made from different parts of the country on Monday.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the arrested individuals have been identified as Minakshi Rani, 30, and Biki Babu, also known as Biki Helal. The Dhaka Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner (media), Md Akhter Hossain, stated that after analyzing CCTV footage and utilizing technology, a police team apprehended Minakshi Rani from Mironjilla Harijon Polli in the Bonghal area around 6:30 am. Biki Helal was arrested from Nabil Highway in the Sirajganj district around 3:30 am.
The case statement reveals that Nisha Rani, 28, a friend of Minakshi Rani, visited the Dhakeshwari temple for puja on October 2. During the visit, Nisha introduced her 'so-called' lover, Biki Babu, to Minakshi, and they subsequently visited several places together. As Minakshi and Biki grew closer, it reportedly upset Nisha. Later that day, Biki visited Minakshi's house at around 3:30 am while her husband was away in Cumilla for work.
Nisha, upon discovering the situation, went to Minakshi's house and found her and Biki in an intimate situation. Following this, Nisha set herself on fire after pouring kerosene on her body. She was rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries at approximately 1:25 am on Monday. A case has been filed in connection with the incident.
