Dhaka:The Turkish Airlines ActivePulse International Half Marathon 2026 recently took place at Hatirjheel, attracting approximately 5,000 participants from both Bangladesh and abroad.
According to United News of Bangladesh, Turkish Airlines served as the title sponsor for the event, which celebrated the role of sports in connecting people and communities. This marathon was particularly meaningful for the airline as it coincided with the 15th anniversary of its operations in Bangladesh, showcasing its commitment to linking the nation with T¼rkiye and other destinations worldwide.
The marathon, held at the iconic Hatirjheel area, highlighted the growing interest in fitness and running within the Bangladeshi community. Participants and supporters from various backgrounds came together, emphasizing the event's inclusive nature.
Islam Gre, Turkish Airlines' Dhaka General Manager, expressed the airline's delight in commemorating its 15-year milestone in Bangladesh through an event that emphasizes movement and connection. He noted that sports, much like aviation, has the unique power to unite people, cultures, and places globally.
Turkish Airlines continues to operate seven weekly flights between Dhaka and Istanbul, providing vital links for passengers traveling from Bangladesh to T¼rkiye and beyond.
