Dhaka:Eleven more children have died with measles-like symptoms within 24 hours, raising the country's total of confirmed and suspected measles-related deaths to 1,076 this year.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) classified these latest fatalities as suspected measles deaths. This brings the number of suspected measles deaths to 975, while confirmed measles deaths remain at 101.
During the same 24-hour period, 1,157 new suspected measles cases were reported, increasing the total number of suspected cases nationwide to 183,449. Additionally, 113 new confirmed measles cases were recorded, bringing the total of laboratory-confirmed infections to 20,851.
Since March 15 this year, 162,048 patients with suspected measles have been hospitalized across the country, with 155,612 of them having recovered, as per DGHS data.
