Chuadanga: Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md Asaduzzaman announced today that the trial in the high-profile Ramisa rape and murder case is scheduled to commence on June 1. This statement was made during his address as the chief guest at an event commemorating the 127th birth anniversary of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam in the Karpasdanga area of Chuadanga.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Minister Asaduzzaman highlighted the swift progress made in the case, emphasizing that the statement of the accused was recorded within 24 hours of the incident, and the charge sheet was filed within a week. He expressed confidence in the legal process, noting that significant strides have been made towards ensuring justice.
The minister’s announcement came at the conclusion of a discussion meeting and cultural programme held at the missionary field adjacent to the poet’s memorial traditional thatched hut. The event, presided over by Chuadanga Deputy Commissioner Lutfun Nahar, featured several notable attendees, including the chief judicial magistrate, Shahjahan Ali, Superintendent of Police Ruhul Kabir Khan, and Additional Deputy Commissioner Nayan Kumar Rajbangshi. The programme was conducted by Munshi Abu Saif, a teacher at Chuadanga Government College.
