Dhaka: Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman today emphasized that personal attacks and character maligning under the guise of freedom of expression are not acts of freedom but are offenses. He made these remarks during a press conference marking the ‘100 days’ of the government held at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tejgaon.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the press conference was organized by the Prime Minister’s Press Wing. Ruman highlighted an incident that occurred this morning at the secretariat where a girl addressed the Prime Minister as Tarique Rahman, pointing out the lack of respect in her manner. He stressed the importance of teaching children to communicate respectfully, as improper behavior can lead to societal degradation.
Ruman praised Prime Minister Tarique Rahman for his relentless efforts towards the nation’s welfare, urging people to view his contributions positively. The event, moderated by Deputy Press Secretary Jahidul Islam Rony, was attended by several key officials including Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman, Speech Writer Mahfuzur Rahman, and Deputy Press Secretaries Mostafa Zulfiquar Hasan, Md. Suzauddhowla, and Shahadat Hossain Shadhin.
