Khulna: A tree plantation programme was held at Khulna University in memory of July martyr Mir Mahfuzur Rahman Mugdho, organized by KU Insiders, a campus-based online platform. The event took place with the aim to honor the martyr and to promote environmental awareness among students.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the programme was inaugurated by KU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md Rezaul Karim, who planted fruit and flower saplings beside the fourth academic building. Dr. Karim emphasized the significance of the July Uprising in the nation's history and praised KU Insiders for their environmentally conscious initiative. He noted that such activities serve to educate students about ecological sustainability and the enduring spirit of the movement.
The event was attended by several notable figures including KU Acting Registrar Professor Dr. S. M. Mahbubur Rahman, Estate Section Head S. M. Mohammad Ali, and the President and General Secretary of the KU Journalists' Association, Alkama Romin and Mirazul Islam. Al Mamun, the admin of KU Insiders, was also present at the programme.
Concluding the event, a special prayer was led by Mufti Abdul Quddus, the senior Imam of the KU mosque, seeking eternal peace for Mugdho and all the martyrs of the July Uprising.
