Tree Plantation Program Commences at Rajshahi University

Rajshahi:The University of Rajshahi (RU) has launched its tree plantation program for the current season. Vice-Chancellor Professor Faridul Islam initiated the program by planting a sapling in the south courtyard of Syed Amir Ali Hall.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event also saw the participation of Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Professor Md. Abdul Alim and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) Professor Mamunur Rashid, who both contributed by planting trees.

The inauguration was attended by several other officials, including Acting College Inspector Professor Mohammad Amirul Islam, Proctor Professor Md. Mahbubur Rahman, and Administrator of the Public Relations Office, Professor S. M. Kamruzzaman, along with officials from the Agriculture Project.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Md. Faridul Islam highlighted that the program aligns with the Bangladesh Government's 'One Child One Tree' initiative. The plan for this season includes planting approximately 3,000 trees at RU, encompassing fruit, medicinal, spice, and forest species.
