Rangamati: A two-day training for sub-assistant agriculture officers commenced today in Rangamati under the Coffee and Cashew Research, Development, and Expansion Project. The workshop, organized by the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), was inaugurated at 10:30am at the DAE training hall.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was attended by Rangamati Hill District Council Chairman Kajol Talukder, who participated as the chief guest, and district DAE Deputy Director Md. Moniruzzaman, who chaired the program. Kajol Talukder emphasized the potential for coffee and cashew cultivation in the hill tracts and called upon all stakeholders to assist farmers in utilizing fallow lands for expanding these crops.
The workshop was also attended by Sadar Upazila Agriculture Officer Shahanaz Parvin and acting Barkal Upazila Agriculture Officer Md. Rezaul Karim, among others. It saw the participation of thirty sub-assistant agriculture officers from various upazilas, including Rangamati Sadar, Naniarchar, Kaptai, and Kaukhali, as well as representatives from the Agriculture Information Service.
