Dhaka: Dhaka University (DU) recently awarded 16 researchers the Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) degree, 22 researchers the Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) degree, and one researcher the D.B.A. (Doctor of Business Administration) degree. DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Niaz Ahmed Khan granted the degrees at the university’s latest syndicate meeting on August 27, a DU press release said today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the newly awarded Ph.D. researchers come from a range of departments, showcasing the academic diversity of the institution. Among the Ph.D. recipients are Mohammad Shadrul Alam from the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, and Muhammad Mahiuddin Sarkar from the Department of Geography and Environment, among others. The diverse fields of study include Applied Mathematics, Urdu, Political Science, Information Science and Library Management, Nutrition and Food Science, and many others.
The M.Phil degrees were awarded to researchers from various departments as well. Sabina from the Department of Urdu, Md. Abdullah Sharif and Md. Abul Kalam Azad from the Department of Islamic Studies, and several others were recognized for their contributions to their respective fields. The M.Phil recipients represent departments such as Sociology, Theoretical and Computational Chemistry, Educational and Counseling Psychology, and more.
Additionally, Jerin Marzan Khan was awarded the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degree from the Department of Finance, marking a significant achievement in the field of business studies at the institution.
