Dhaka: Two brothers were killed as their motorcycle hit a roadside railing on the Dhaka-Mawa highway at Dakshin Keraniganj in the city today. The deceased were identified as Shakib Hossain, 25, and Shakil Hossain, sons of Md Abul Hossain, residents of Abhaynagar upazila in Jashore district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Sub-Inspector (SI) Shafiul Islam of Hasara Highway Thana reported that the accident occurred at around 10:30 am in front of the Jhilmil Residential project in Keraniganj. The motorcycle rider lost control, resulting in the duo being killed on the spot. The brothers were reportedly heading towards the capital on their motorcycle.
Police have since recovered the bodies and sent them to Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital for autopsy. A case has also been filed in connection with the accident, as confirmed by the Sub-Inspector.
