Dhaka: On the occasion of Martyred Intellectuals Day, all types of vehicles are advised to avoid Mirpur Mazar Road, stretching from Mazar Road Crossing to Mirpur No. 1 Crossing, on December 14.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the restriction is aimed at ensuring the smooth movement of the President, Chief Adviser, Chief Justice, government officials, diplomats, and organizational leaders who will be visiting the Mirpur Martyred Intellectuals Memorial. The information was released in a police press release today.
Alternative routes have been arranged for the affected areas. Vehicles can take detours via Rainkhola Crossing, Nawaberbagh Crossing, Technical Intersection, Ansar Camp, Bangla College, Diabari Crossing, and Gabtoli Embankment Road, to avoid congestion.
The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), in a statement signed by its Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali, issued these instructions to facilitate the observance of the day. Residents and commuters are urged to comply with the DMP guidelines to ensure a smooth flow of traffic and the success of the event.
