Dhaka: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali has sounded a note of warning of taking strict action against any move to disrupt the DUCSU elections. 'Strict action will be taken if any attempt is made to disrupt the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) elections,' he said. He made the remarks while presiding over a coordination meeting on overall security and traffic management on the occasion of DUCSU elections-2025 held at the conference room of DMP Headquarters today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the DMP Commissioner emphasized the readiness of the police to provide all-out cooperation as per the instructions given by the Election Commission for the DUCSU elections. He stressed the importance of coordinated efforts of all government agencies to ensure a safe and smooth election process.
The Commissioner underscored the collective responsibility to work together to ensure a fair and peaceful election. At the beginning of the coordination meeting, DMP Joint Police Commissioner (Operations) Mohammad Shahidullah presented the overall security plan for the election through a PowerPoint presentation.
Following the presentation, representatives of various organizations present at the meeting participated in an open discussion to express their valuable opinions. The meeting was attended by several key officials, including DMP Additional Police Commissioner (Crime and Operations) SN Md. Nazrul Islam, Additional Police Commissioner (Logistics, Finance and Procurement) Hasan Md. Shawkat Ali, Additional Police Commissioner (CTTC) Md. Masud Karim, Additional Police Commissioner (Detective Branch) Md. Shafiqul Islam, and Additional Police Commissioner (Traffic) Md. Zillur Rahman.
