Amman: Bangladesh national women’s football team forward Tohura Khatun was found upbeat to give their maximum efforts to win against Indonesia.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Tohura expressed optimism and determination to secure a victory in their upcoming match against Indonesia. “We have no previous experience of playing against Indonesia and are going to play against them for the first time. our main goal is to win the match, and we’ll try our level best to give maximum effort against Indonesia,” Tohura said through a video message during the team’s second day’s practice session at Jawa ground in Amman, Jordan.
She further noted that the second day’s training session was an improvement over the first day, with favorable weather conditions and a grassy ground contributing to a productive practice. Tohura emphasized that all team members are in good health and spirits.
Assistant coach Mahbubur Rahman Litu shared similar sentiments, stating that the team is fit and has successfully completed their training sessions. He expressed confidence in the players’ motivation and anticipated a strong performance in the tournament. Litu also remarked on the learning opportunities this tournament presents for the team.
Bangladesh is scheduled to play two international FIFA friendly matches during the official FIFA women’s international match window. The team will face Indonesia on May 31 and host Jordan on July 3. Both opponents are considered stronger than Bangladesh on paper. This series serves as preparation for the upcoming AFC Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers, where Bangladesh will compete against Myanmar, Bahrain, and Turkmenistan.
