Tk 2.3 Crore Allocated for Improved Diet for Security Forces on Eid Day

Dhaka: The government has allocated Taka 2.3 crore for serving improved food to the on-duty members of police, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Ansar and VDP, and Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) on the day of Eid-ul-Fitr, according to a notification issued here today. “The government allocated the amount to meet the expenses of serving improved food to members of the police, BGB, Ansar and VDP, and Bangladesh Coast Guard who are responsible for patrolling, checking posts and joint operations to maintain law and order in various important places across the country, including Dhaka,” it said.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, of the total allocation, Bangladesh Police will receive Tk one crore, BGB Tk 40 lakh, Bangladesh Ansar and VDP Tk 60 lakh, and Bangladesh Coast Guard Tk 3 lakh. The notification emphasized that no money can be spent in excess of the allocated amount and all financial regulations must be strictly followed. Proper accounts must be maintained and submitted to the Public Security Division for audit purposes.



The Public Security Division clarified that it will not shoulder any audit objections, if any arise. Additionally, any unspent money should be returned by June 30, as stated in the notification.
