Tk 12,869 Crore Allocated for Water Resources Ministry in Proposed Budget

Dhaka: The government has allocated Taka 12,869 crore for the Ministry of Water Resources in the proposed budget for the fiscal year 2025-26. Finance Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed presented this allocation as part of a Taka 7,90,000 crore national budget for the upcoming fiscal year.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the proposed allocation includes Taka 12,155 crore designated for development purposes and Taka 714 crore set aside for operational needs. This marks an increase of Taka 70 crore compared to the revised budget for the previous fiscal year 2024-25.



The budget proposal reflects the government’s commitment to enhancing the infrastructure and management of water resources across the country. The increased funding is expected to support various projects aimed at improving water management and addressing challenges related to water scarcity and resource distribution.
