Dhaka: The government has allocated Taka 11,204 crore for the Ministry of Water Resources in the proposed budget for the fiscal year (FY) 2025-26. This allocation is Taka 1,480 crore lower than the revised budget of the previous FY 2024-25.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed proposed the allocation after unveiling a Taka 7,90,000 crore national budget for the fiscal year 2025-26. Of the total allocation for the Ministry of Water Resources, Taka 2,714 crore has been earmarked for operational expenses and Taka 8,490 crore for development purposes.
