Bogura: A farmer was killed after being struck by lightning at Yogirbhaban village of Paikar union in Kahalu upazila of the district today. The deceased was Mohammad Akand, 55, son of late Bulu Akand, a resident of Sikini village under Sadulapur upazila in Gaibandha district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the lightning was followed by a rainstorm that hit the farmer this morning while he was working at his crop field. Officer-in-Charge of Kahalu Police Station Abdul Hannan confirmed that Mohammad Akand died on the spot.
