Three Motorcyclists Killed in Road Accident on Dinajpur-Gobindaganj Highway

Dinajpur: Three motorcycle riders were killed in a road accident on the Dinajpur-Gobindaganj highway in Ghoraghat upazila of the district this morning. Police reported that the accident took place around 11:00 am in front of Raniganj Bazar Central Jame Mosque when a goods-laden truck collided with a motorcycle as it was entering the highway, resulting in the immediate death of one rider and critically injuring two others.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, locals quickly responded by rescuing the injured and transporting them to Ghoraghat Upazila Health Complex. However, both succumbed to their injuries around 1:00 pm while receiving medical care. The deceased have been identified as Alamin, 15, son of Mosharaf Hossain from Nurpur village; Saikat Ahmed, 16, son of Salim Uddin from Mogolispur village; and Abul Kaiyum, 20, son of Shosmesh Uddin from the same area within Ghoraghat upazila.



Md. Shahidul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Ghoraghat Police Station, confirmed the incident and stated that truck helper Sabbir Hossain Shawan, 26, son of Sajidul Islam from SK Bazar village in Ghoraghat upazila, has been detained. Meanwhile, the truck driver fled the scene following the accident. Legal proceedings are currently underway regarding the incident.
