Three More Children Die with Measles Symptoms in the Past 24 Hours

Rabat:Three additional children have died with symptoms of measles across the country in the past 24 hours.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during this same period, 1,349 suspected and confirmed measles cases were reported. Since March 15, 2026, the total number of deaths from suspected measles symptoms has reached 1,043.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has announced that while no deaths from confirmed measles occurred in the last 24 hours, a total of 104 children have died from confirmed measles between March 15 and October 9. The overall death toll from confirmed measles and measles-like symptoms has now reached 1,147 since March 15.

In the last 24 hours, 1,268 suspected measles cases were reported, bringing the total number of suspected cases to 202,893 from March 15 to October 9. During this time, 81 confirmed measles cases were identified, increasing the total number of confirmed cases to 22,197.

From March 15 to October 9, hospitals admitted a total of 180,079 patients with suspected measles, and 172,705 of these patients have since been discharged.
