Bogura: Three friends were tragically killed when a truck collided with their motorbike in the Dharmokam area under Sherpur upazila of Bogura district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the victims have been identified as Naeem Islam, 21, son of Badsha Mia; Rifat Rahman, 22, son of Liton; and Selim Hossain, 22, son of Siddique. All hailed from Koyerkhali village in Khanpur union of the upazila.
The incident occurred while they were returning home on a motorbike via the Dhaka-Rangpur highway during Iftar. Inspector Azizul Haque, in-charge of Highway Police at Sherpur Police Station, explained that their bike fell onto the road after losing control, and a truck subsequently ran them over.
The injured were initially taken to Sherpur Upazila Health Complex, where Naeem was declared dead by the on-duty doctor. Selim and Rifat were later transferred to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries while receiving treatment at night.
Police stated that efforts are currently underway to identify the truck and its driver involved in the accident.
