Three Food Shops Penalized Tk 93,000 in Bogura for Unhygienic Practices

Bogura: Three food shops in Sherpur upazila of Bogura district were fined a total of Tk 93,000 during a drive today, for storing food in unhygienic conditions and selling expired products.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Mehedi Hasan, assistant director of the Directorate of National Consumers’ Right Protection in Bogura, led the operation. He was accompanied by District Safe Food Officer Md. Russel, Upazila Sanitary Inspector, and a team of police.



Among the establishments penalized, ‘Baikali Doi-Mistanno Ghor’ received a fine of Tk 50,000, ‘Shoily Food Park and Chinese’ Tk 40,000, and ‘Doi Mela’ Tk 3,000 for violations related to unsanitary food storage and expired goods sales.



Mehedi Hasan emphasized that strict action will continue against illegal food businesses, with district authorities and relevant departments working together to safeguard public health.
