Khulna: A three-day Land Service Fair will be inaugurated in Khulna and across Bangladesh from May 19 to May 21, as part of an initiative by the Ministry of Land in alignment with the current government’s election manifesto. The announcement was made during a press conference held at the Circuit House conference room.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Additional Divisional Commissioner (Revenue) of Khulna Sifat Mehnaz addressed the press conference as the chief guest. She announced that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will officially inaugurate the nationwide fair from Tejgaon Bhumi Bhaban at 10 am on May 19. The Khulna district-level fair will take place on the premises of the Deputy Commissioner’s office during the same period.
The opening of the fair will be marked by a colourful procession scheduled to commence from Shaheed Hadis Park to the Deputy Commissioner’s office at 11 am on May 19. Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad Whip Rokibul Islam Bokul is expected to attend the event as the chief guest.
The fair will be accessible to visitors daily from 10 am to 4 pm. Two seminars are slated to be held at the Divisional Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner’s offices in Khulna. The fair aims to educate students from various educational institutions through hands-on orientation on digital land services, and it will host quiz competitions focusing on land services and land laws.
Visitors can also receive assistance for online registration, holding entry, and approval through the land service portal for land development tax payments. Additional services include support for filing e-mutation applications, completing mutation procedures, and applying for certified copies of khatiyan and mouza maps online. Compensation cheques related to land acquisition will be distributed at the fair, and public hearings will be conducted to address and resolve complaints regarding land services.
Khulna Deputy Commissioner Hoore Jannat, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Kaniz Fatema Liza, Khulna Press Club President Mostafa Sarwar, General Secretary Md Tarikul Islam, and journalists from both print and electronic media were present at the press conference.
