Dhaka: The election for the board of directors of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is set to take place on June 7, following the recent appointment of Tamim Iqbal as president of the ad-hoc interim committee. Tamim, who took office on April 7, had committed to holding the election three months early to stabilize the board’s administration.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Chief Election Commissioner’s office released the schedule for the BCB board of directors election-2026 through a notification yesterday. Voting and the announcement of results are both scheduled for June 7.

The draft voter list has been published, and any objections to it can be submitted and will be addressed on May 18. The final voter list will be released at 5 pm on the same day after the hearing.

Polling will be held at the BCB headquarters in Mirpur from 10 am to 4 pm, with results expected by 6 pm. A total of 23 directors will be elected directly, while two more will be nominated by the National Sports Council. The BCB president will then be elected by votes from these 25 directors.
