Gaibandha: Department of Environment has fined three brickfields Tk 14 lakh for various reasons including not having proper documents and no objection certificate in Palashbari upazila of the district. Officials said a mobile court led by Executive Magistrate Al-Yasha, also upazila assistant commissioner (Land), on Saturday conducted separate drives and fined three brickfields.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Inspector of DoE Mohammad Sher Alam was present during the drives. The fines were imposed as part of an effort to regulate the operations of brickfields in the area, ensuring compliance with environmental standards and legal requirements. The authorities emphasized the importance of acquiring the necessary documentation and approvals to operate brickfields legally, highlighting the ongoing efforts to monitor and enforce environmental regulations in the district.
