SHOLAKIA: Sholakia Eidgah transformed into a sea of humanity as a large number of Muslim devotees gathered to offer their Eid-ul-Azha prayers.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Eid congregation at Sholakia took place at 9:00 am. The district administration ensured that all arrangements for the Eid prayers were completed smoothly. Security was a top priority, with two platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), numerous police officers both in uniform and plainclothes, and hundreds of RAB and Ansar members deployed around the Eidgah venue.

Security measures included positioning law enforcers on rooftops of nearby buildings. RAB and police personnel monitored the crowd using binoculars from six watch towers, supplemented by drones and several CCTV cameras. To enter the Eidgah Maidan, devotees had to pass through at least four police checkpoints.

In preparation for any emergencies, members of the fire service, a medical team with ambulances, a police quick response team, and a bomb disposal team were on standby. Additionally, for the convenience of the devotees, two special trains named Sholakia Express operated on the Kishoreganj-Mymensingh and Bhairab-Kishoreganj routes.

The prayers were conducted by Mufti Abul Khair Mohammad Saifullah, the Khatib of Boro Bazar Masjid in the town.
