The Thai version of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s “The Unfinished Memoirs” was launched in Bangkok on Thursday.
As part of the celebration of the golden jubilee of the bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Thailand, the South Asia Study Center of Chulalongkorn University, one of the esteemed educational institutions of Thailand, and the Embassy of Bangladesh, Bangkok jointly organized the book launching ceremony.
Trustee of Center for Research and Information (CRI) and grandson of Bangabandhu Radwan Mujib Siddiq was the chief guest at the event.
Prof. Narin Hiransuthikul, Vice President of the Chulalongkorn University and Ambassador of Bangladesh to Thailand Mohammed Abdul Hye welcomed the chief guest.

Vice President of the University said Bangabandhu’s “Unfinished Memoirs” is a unique document which not only depicts the history of the birth of a nation but is also written by the man himself who created history and brought freedom to his countrymen.
A video message from Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen was played. He said Bangabandhu’s message of peace is the main dictum of Bangladesh’s foreign policy – ‘friendship to all, malice towards none’.
Radwan Mujib said Bangabandhu worked for the people of the country throughout his life. “It is not possible to know Bangladesh without knowing Bangabandhu.”
He said the book has provided an excellent opportunity for the present day youth to know the history of Bangladesh through the eyes of the leader who brought independence to his people. “Therefore, this translation will help the Thai readers to know Bangabandhu and Bangladesh together.”
A documentary based on the life of Bangabandhu was also screened.
