Mymensingh: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Standing Committee Member Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain on Sunday expressed hope that the nation would collectively bring back the party's Acting Chairman, Tarique Rahman, to Bangladesh with due respect soon. He was speaking at a discussion held at the Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman Auditorium of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, marking the 'National Revolution and Solidarity Day' on November 7. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr. Zahid Hossain emphasized the presence of BNP leader Begum Khaleda Zia in the country, contrasting it with another leader who fled. He remarked that divine justice spares no one and asserted that should the BNP come to power, there would be no discrimination in the country. During his address, Zahid Hossain urged the public to unite with the spirit of November 7 to thwart any conspiracies against democracy. He highlighted that Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman was the first victim of discrimination in independent Bangladesh but insi sted that BNP stands against any form of discrimination or division. He credited Ziaur Rahman for establishing Bangladeshi nationalism in the country. The discussion was chaired by Agriculturist Prof. Dr. Md. Shah Jahan, Convener of the Sammilita Peshajibi Parishad's Mymensingh Divisional Committee, and conducted by its General Secretary Dr. Mohammad Ali. Among the speakers were Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) Vice-Chancellor AK Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan, BNP Executive Committee Member Dr. Mahbubur Rahman Liton, former MP Shah Nurul Kabir Shahin, Mymensingh City unit BNP Convener AKM Shafiqul Islam, and Joint Convener Prof. Sheikh Amjad Ali.
