Tarique Rahman Vows BNP’s Commitment to Restoring Democracy and Ensuring Voting Rights

Dhaka: BNP acting Chairman Tarique Rahman today emphasized the party’s unwavering commitment to restoring democracy and ensuring the voting rights of the people. Speaking at a virtual training workshop on the party’s 31-point reform outline, Rahman highlighted BNP’s dedication to establishing democracy as the country’s largest political party.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was organized by the BNP Training Committee and involved leaders and workers from Dinajpur, Thakurgaon, and Panchagarh. These participants joined the virtual workshop from their respective districts. Rahman urged party members to gain public trust and spread the 31-point outline nationwide.



Rahman emphasized the importance of upholding the ideals of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. He also participated in a question-and-answer session with leaders and activists.



The event in Dinajpur was chaired by District BNP President Advocate Md. Mofazzal Hossain Dulal at Najma Garden. Rahman highlighted the contributions of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman and Khaleda Zia to the development of the country’s education, health, infrastructure, and agricultural sectors. He noted their efforts in ensuring press freedom, increasing women’s representation, and advocating for an independent judiciary.



Rahman stated that BNP prioritizes issues related to public welfare and expressed the need to work for the country’s and people’s benefit. He criticized the current government’s divisive tactics over the past 15 years and stressed the importance of unity for national progress.



Addressing unemployment, Rahman pointed out that approximately 30 million people in the country are jobless. He emphasized the need to expand the employment sector, whether through government or private initiatives, and proposed creating opportunities for entrepreneurship.



Rahman also mentioned the potential involvement of distinguished professionals in politics if BNP comes to power. He expressed a commitment to addressing the issues related to the international river Teesta, impacting three crore people in the north, and emphasized development planning over political maneuvering.
