Tarique Rahman to Return Home Soon: Dr. Zahid

Maona Chowrasta: BNP Standing Committee Member Prof Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain has announced that the party's Acting Chairman, Tarique Rahman, will be returning to the country shortly. Dr. Zahid made this statement at an event held at RS Cafe Restaurant in Maona Chowrasta earlier today.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event included the distribution of financial assistance to 12 families affected by the July-August movement in Sripur. The families of six martyrs received Taka 50,000 each, while the families of six individuals injured received Taka 25,000 each.

Dr. Zahid referred to a recent meeting held in London between Tarique Rahman and Bangladesh's Chief Adviser. He expressed that this meeting is expected to resolve issues relating to democracy and the electoral process in Bangladesh. It is anticipated to pave the way for justice against perpetrators, necessary reforms, prompt elections, and the repatriation of laundered money for national reconstruction.

Assuring the families of the July victims, Dr. Zahid emphasized that the BNP and the Zia family have always supported, and will continue to support, those affected during the movement. He reiterated that the BNP prioritizes the country and its citizens.

The program was presided over by BNP's Central Executive Committee member and Assistant Health Affairs Secretary, Professor Dr. Rafiqul Islam Bachchu. Following this event, Dr. Zahid attended a reception and Eid reunion program organized by the 1975 batch at Kawrhaid KN High School, where he delivered a speech as the chief guest.
