Dhaka: BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury announced today that the endeavor to construct a new Bangladesh is set to commence tomorrow, with BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman at the helm. Khasru made this statement during a book launch ceremony at Bangla Academy, highlighting the significance of Rahman’s anticipated arrival from London.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Khasru emphasized that the political landscape in Bangladesh has evolved following the July Uprising, and underscored the necessity of internal party reforms and fostering stronger connections with the populace. Khasru also highlighted the importance of democratizing the economy, empowering women, and leveraging technology to create employment opportunities for the youth. He stated that Tarique Rahman’s vision involves collaborating with the private sector and NGOs alongside the government to achieve these goals.
The event featured contributions from several notable figures, including Managing Director and Chief Editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Mahbub Morshed, who expressed satisfaction with the swift publication of the book ‘Ami Kono Aguntak Nai,’ edited by Writer and Journalist Maruf Mallick and Ehsan Mahmud. Morshed remarked on the significant shift in the Bangladeshi psyche following Sheikh Hasina’s departure from the country.
The ceremony saw participation from various writers, poets, and contributors who shared insights and reflections on the themes explored in the book.
