Dhaka: BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury announced that the work of building a new Bangladesh is set to commence tomorrow, with BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman laying its foundation. This declaration was made during a book launch ceremony at Bangla Academy, reflecting the party’s vision for the country’s future.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Khasru highlighted that Tarique Rahman’s return from London marks the beginning of realizing the dream of a new Bangladesh. Speaking as the chief guest at the event organized for the launch of the book ‘Ami Kono Aguntak Nai,’ edited by Writer and Journalist Maruf Mallick and Ehsan Mahmud, Khasru emphasized transformative changes following the July Uprising.
Khasru underscored the importance of internal party reforms and building partnerships with the populace, articulating his preference for ‘alliances’ over ‘unity.’ He stated that creating partnerships with the people would facilitate progress toward Bangladesh’s future.
The senior BNP leader further emphasized the need to democratize the economy, empower women, and generate employment opportunities for the youth through technological advancements. He conveyed Tarique Rahman’s vision of involving the private sector and NGOs in a comprehensive partnership with the government to ensure a collaborative effort in national development.
Mahbub Morshed, Managing Director and Chief Editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, also addressed the attendees, expressing delight in the swift publication of the book and its role in uncovering the true history of the country. He remarked on the significant shift in the national psyche following Sheikh Hasina’s departure from the country.
The event featured speeches from several writers and poets, including Ehsan Mahmud, Poet Russel Raihan, Poet Jabbar Al Naim, Writer Salah Uddin Shuvro, and Publisher Sayeed Bari. Contributions to the book included articles from notable BNP figures and literary contributions from poets and writers.
