Tangail: BNP Publicity Secretary and Tangail-5 (Sadar) constituency candidate Sultan Salauddin Tuku announced that BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has urged party leaders and activists to remain engaged with the public. Tuku emphasized the importance of this connection during a view-exchange meeting held in support of the party symbol 'Sheaf of Paddy' at Gol Chottor of Mahmudnagar Union under Sadar Upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Tuku addressed concerns about potential conspiracies surrounding the national elections, confidently stating that such efforts will not succeed. He expressed his commitment to the development of the greater char region if elected, specifically highlighting plans to construct a bridge over the Dhaleshwari River to alleviate hardships faced by char dwellers. Additionally, Tuku pledged to build an embankment along the river to protect residents from erosion.
Tuku also promised to transform Tangail Sadar into a model town, emphasizing a focus on eliminating crime and corruption to create a modern, terror-free Tangail. He praised BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia for her relentless fight against injustice, noting her reputation as an uncompromising leader.
The meeting was organized by Mahmudnagar Union BNP and presided over by Union BNP President Engineer Abdur Rashid. Other notable speakers included former District BNP Member Secretary Mahmudul Haque Sanu, Sadar Upazila BNP President Azgar Ali, and Senior Joint Secretary Azim Uddin Biplob, among others. The event concluded with the distribution of free spray machines to local farmers.
