Dhaka: Opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim’s explosive knock of 58 runs from 37 balls was not enough to propel Dhaka Capitals to a competitive total, as they ended their innings at 123-9 against Khulna Tigers in their final Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) match today. Tanzid’s innings, decorated with one four and seven sixes, stood out as a lone effort in an otherwise lackluster batting performance by his team.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the match held little significance for the already eliminated Dhaka Capitals. However, it was a crucial encounter for Khulna Tigers, who needed a victory to secure their spot in the playoffs, edging out Durbar Rajshahi.

Apart from Tanzid, Dhaka’s batting lineup struggled to make an impact. Sabbir Rahman was the only other batsman to make a noteworthy contribution with 20 runs. Mehedi Hasan Rana and Liton Das managed to reach double figures, scoring 13 and 10 runs respectively, but failed to build on their starts.

Khulna Tigers’ bowlers dominated the innings with Pacer Hasan Mahmud leading the charge. Mahmud’s impressive bowling figures of 4-1-5-2 played a pivotal role in restricting Dhaka Capitals. William Bosisto complemented Mahmud’s performance by claiming two wickets for just 10 runs in his four-over spell.
