Dhaka: The Dhaka divisional inter-college football tournament has commenced at the Physical Education College Ground in Mohammadpur, marking the beginning of an exciting event in the capital.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the tournament features the top twenty-six colleges from thirteen districts within the Dhaka division. This event is organized as part of the Youth Festival-2025, an initiative by the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The competition is structured in a knockout format, with the champions and runners-up earning the opportunity to compete at the national level.
In the opening match, Dr. Abul Hossain College from Rajbari district secured a spot in the next round by defeating MA Reza Degree College from Shariatpur district with an impressive score of 6-1. The tournament was officially inaugurated by Dhaka divisional commissioner Sharaf Uddin Ahmad, who served as the chief guest. Mustafa Zaman, Director of the Directorate of Sports, was also present at the occasion.
