Tahsin Finishes 51st Place in World Junior U-20 Chess

Petrovac: FIDE Master Tahsin Tajwar Zia finished 51st out of 157 players in the open category of the World Junior (Under-20) Chess Championship held in Petrovac, Montenegro. Tahsin tied for 44th place with six points from eleven matches and eventually finished 51st in the tie-breaking system.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, international master Manon Reja Neer finished in 83rd place with 5.5 points from eleven matches. The 11th or last round matches were held on Friday, with FIDE Master Tahsin Tajwar Zia losing to Grand Master Sokolovsky Yahli and international master Manon Reja Neer losing to Cao Qingfeng of China.

Earlier, in the 10th round match on Thursday, Tahsin split the point with international master Ansat Aldiyar of Kazakhstan, and Neer also drew with international master Bochnicka Vladimir of Slovakia. Grand Master V Pranav of India became the undefeated champion of the event with nine points.

A total of 157 players, including 12 grand masters, 37 international masters, and 44 FIDE mas
ters from 58 countries, participated in the event, which was held in 11 rounds of the Swiss-league format.
