India have won the toss and opted to first against Pakistan in their T20 World Cup opener on Sunday in Melbourne. India made a flying start sending both the Pakistan openers back in the powerplay.

Pakistan, who were asked to bat first, lost their openers early.

Both Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan fell prey to Arshdeep Singh. While Babar suffered a first-ball duck, Rizwan posted only four off 12 balls.

It was a straight delivery from Arshdeep in the first ball of the second over. Babar missed it entirely and the ball hit his pad. The umpire called in an lbw. Babar went for a review but the replays showed he was dismissed.

And Rizwan was a prey to a short ball from Arshdeep.

Pakistan scored only 32 for 2 in the powerplay.
