Sylhet Face Uphill Task to Become Unbeaten Champions in NCL.

Chattogram: Sylhet faced an uphill task to become unbeaten champions in the 26th National Cricket League (NCL) as they need 59 runs with just two wickets at hand for a victory against Rajshahi Division. Sylhet, which had already clinched the title with a game to spare, reached 142-8, while chasing a victory target of 201 at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram today.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Sylhet has so far won four matches and drawn two on their way to secure the title for the first time in NCL history. Resuming Day 3 at 70-3, Rajshahi were bowled out for 186 with captain Pritom Kumar making the highest score of 44 and Nihad Uz Zaman contributing 43 runs. Sofor Ali, Nabil Samad, and Tofael Ahmed claimed three wickets each for Sylhet.

However, captain Amite Hasan continued the trend of making runs consistently amid the failure of the other batters. Amite followed his first innings score of 53 with 71 in the second innings to keep Sylhet in the game. The second-best contribution cam
e from Pinak Ghosh and Taufiq Khan Tushar, who each scored 30. No other batters could reach double digits.

Sofor Ali and Nabil Samad were at the crease with 3 and 2 runs respectively at stumps.
