Sylhet: The Sylhet board has achieved a pass rate of 51.86 percent in this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations, marking the lowest rate in 12 years. Sylhet Education Board Chairman Professor Md. Anwar Hossain Chowdhury officially announced the results at the board’s conference room today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a total of 69,172 students-27,764 male and 41,408 female-appeared in the HSC exams under the board, with 35,870 students passing the examinations. This year’s results show that girl students have outperformed their male counterparts in both pass rate and obtaining GPA-5.
The results further reveal that 1,602 students from the board achieved a GPA-5. Among these high achievers, 921 are girls and 681 are boys, highlighting the superior performance of female students in the examinations.
