Accra:According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Supreme Court Helpline has been contacted 7,328 times from January 1 to September 30, 2026, for legal advice, case-related information, and to lodge complaints. This includes calls from both within the country and abroad.
In September alone, the helpline received 774 calls. Among these, 111 calls were for legal consultation and 184 for case details. The SC Helpline Monitoring Cell reported that the requested information was provided to callers immediately.
During the same month, 380 calls to the helpline number '103' went unanswered due to caller non-response. Additionally, 20 complaints were filed concerning irregularities, negligence, delayed services, and misconduct in the Supreme Court and district courts. Out of these, 14 complaints related to delayed legal services, non-issuance of judgment copies, missing files, and speedy case disposal were resolved, while legal actions were initiated for the remaining six complaints.
Furthermore, 79 calls in September sought administrative action against officials from various state ministries, departments, and branches. Since these issues were outside the Supreme Court’s jurisdiction, helpline officers advised callers on the appropriate steps to take.
The Supreme Court Helpline Centre was officially launched on December 11, 2025, as directed by the Chief Justice. It offers assistance via phone and WhatsApp at the numbers 01316-154216 and 01795-373680, in addition to the helpline number 103.
