Mymensingh: Supradip Chakma, the Adviser for Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs, today emphasized the necessity for constitutional reform aiming to establish a democratic nation. Speaking as the chief guest during a voter awareness rally at the Khagrachari Town Hall, Chakma highlighted that the power to shape the country’s future now rests with its citizens.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the rally was organized under the theme ‘Referendum 2026: The key to the country is in your hands.’ Supradip Chakma encouraged the public to vote ‘Yes’ in the referendum, aiming to fulfill the collective aspirations of the nation. He noted that the referendum’s goal is to resolve the ongoing power struggles and create a stable governmental structure.
Chakma also emphasized that the foundation of the country should be built on humanitarian dignity, social justice, and religious harmony. He pointed out that holding the national election and referendum simultaneously offers a historic opportunity for comprehensive state reform.
The event was chaired by Khagrachari Deputy Commissioner Anwar Sadat.
