Subrota emerges unbeaten champion in Rating Chess

DHAKA, CM Subrota Biswas of Bangladesh Navy emerged unbeaten champion in the Armature International Rating Chess Tournament held at the Bangladesh Chess Federation hallroom on Sunday.

CM Subrota earned 6.5 points to clinch the title. Three players earned 6 points each. In tiebreaking system Feroz Ahmed of Sonali Bank Sports and Recreation Club become Runnerup, Jabed Al Azad of Shahin Chess Club placed at 3rd and Sariatullah of Esoft Arena Chess Club secured 4th position.

Five players earned 5.5 points each. In tiebreaking system Mohammed Enayet Hossain become 5th, Mihir Lal Das become 6th, Mukitul Islam Ripon became 7th, Masum Hossain become 8th and Jamal Uddin become 9th position.

Nine players earned 5 points each, in tiebreaking system among them Matiur Rahman (Mamun) become 10th, CM Sohel Chowdhury become 11th and Sadnan Hasan Dihan became 12th.

Special prizes went to WCM Noshin Anjum, Sabyasachi Mondal, Asadujjaman, Sohel Rana and Kaykobad Khan.

In the day's 7th or last round games today (Sunday), CM Subrota split point with Feroz, Sariat beat Mamun, Jabed beat Asifur Rahman, Enayet beat Mohammad Yousuf, Mihir beat Saimon Siddiqur Rahman, Jamal beat Sk. Rashedul Hasan, Masum beat Abul Kashem Al Shahid, CM Sohel beat ResatENoor, WCM Noshin beat Jewel Khan, Dihan beat Din Mohammad, Ripon got walkover against Nayan Kumar Mohanto.
